Jorge Brockhoeft Obituary

Jorge Roy Brockhoeft, age 81, of Cary, IL, passed away on February 22, 2026. He was born December 9, 1944 in the Panama Canal Zone to his loving mother, Silvia Castillero Sanchez.

A proud high school graduate, Jorge went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life he carried with quiet pride.

He dedicated 19 years of hard work to Accutronics and later served the Fox River Grove School District for seven years, building lasting friendships along the way. Jorge believed in showing up, working hard, and treating people with kindness and humor.

In 1965, what began as a blind date with a young woman named Cheri turned into the love story of a lifetime. Jorge accompanied her to her senior prom, and just two years later, in 1967, they were married. Together they shared 58 beautiful years of marriage—years filled with partnership, laughter, and unwavering love.

Jorge was known far and wide for his storytelling—especially his legendary “tall tales.” Whether gathered around a table or relaxing in the backyard, he had a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable stories, always leaving everyone laughing. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: fishing on a quiet day, tending his garden with care, listening to music, watching sports, and spending time with the many birds and dogs who were lucky enough to be part of the family over the years. Each summer, Jorge’s garden produced not only vegetables but his famous homemade salsa, which he proudly shared with friends and neighbors—a true labor of love that brought people together.

Above all, Jorge will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man who filled every room with warmth and laughter. His stories will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, retold with smiles and perhaps just a touch of exaggeration—just the way he would have wanted.

Jorge was preceded in death by his mother; two brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Cheri Brockhoeft; daughter, Theresa Arnold; siblings, Gladys Jacomine, Yvette Roggasch, and Gerry Sanchez; grandchildren, Eddie Arnold and Paige Arnold; and many nieces and nephews.
